Company Profile

Waste Disposals Limited (WDL) has been in the business of providing integrated waste management services to domestic, municipal, commercial and industrial clients for over eighteen years. The focus of the Company’s activities has been the collection, haulage, treatment and disposal of various categories of liquid, solid and hazardous wastes. The Company pioneered the use of modern containerized waste collection equipment and continues to be the industry leader, by introducing new containerized systems and approaches to waste handling in Trinidad and Tobago and the Eastern Caribbean.

Over the last seven years our private, commercial and industrial client base has more than doubled and now stands at more than 700. This rapid growth can be attributed to the wide range and consistently high quality of services provided to clients and from referred business from satisfied customers.

In expanding the range of services to our clients, WDL has entered into a number of joint venture agreements with international firms to make specialized services available in Trinidad and Tobago. Our joint venture with Parkans International Inc. allows us to provide metal recovery and recycling facilities to our industrial clients and is particularly useful in making catalyst handling and disposal services available on the local market.

Our joint venture partnership with Coastal Environmental Services Inc. has increased our capacity to undertake site assessment and remediation contracts for hydrocarbon and chemical contaminated sites. Through this joint venture relationship, clients in the industrial sector can avail themselves of proprietary, US/EPA approved, remediation services including bioremediation and bio augmentation of hydrocarbon contaminated soils.

Our new subsidiary, Waste Plastic Recovery Limited, is the product of another joint venture between Kofman Plastics International Trading of Canada and WDL, has made waste plastic recovery and recycling facilities available for the first time in Trinidad and Tobago.

In 1996, WDL created a new Division, EPAS Consultants, which has allowed the Company to expand its services even further to include the provision of consultancy services in the areas of environmental sciences, environmental planning, environmental assessment and environmental management to local and regional clients.

The Division’s ability to provide environmental consultancy services over a broad range of disciplines is based on its core staff complement of four professionals, contractual agreements with a number of local professionals and a joint venture partnership with a Canadian environmental consulting firm,SENES Consultants Limited. In the two years since formation of EPAS Consultants, the Company has successfully undertaken a number of projects for large industrial clients and for local and regional public sector organizations, establishing EPAS Consultants as one of the premiere environmental consulting firms in Trinidad and Tobago and the Eastern Caribbean.
